Simple & Healthy Bacon Taco Recipe

Nothing says LOVE quite like bacon. Not the farmer’s choice bacon that is loaded with carcinogens, namely chapo bacon sandwichmonosodium glutamate, nitrites, sodium benzoate. No, Nakumatt has a brand that is just simply cured with salt, white pepper, masala and smoked. It is packed by lemco something ltd but sold as a nakumatt brand, naku deli, KES 399 per 200g meaning it is cheaper than the cancerous commercial brands which even have synthetic coloring to make them red for years. Real bacon turns a little bit grey, which might be unappealing but not bad at all.

After you get your chemical-free bacon, just cook it in a preheated oven for 5 minutes on a pan to collect the bacon fat which you can use to saute some vegetables. Cooking bacon on the stove-top is tricky and easy to burn and become too crispy. Bacon fat is healthier than the synthetic and highly processed ‘vegetable’ oils that were not made from vegetables, but from GMO soy beans. Back in the day, people used to fry and deep fry in pork fat/lard, which is natural, unlike shortening, vegetable oil, margarine, which are all toxic chemicals.

Whole Wheat Tortilla

To make a whole wheat tortilla/chapati is easy and can even be done in 30 minutes if you are on the quick. Just add some luke-warm water (1/4 cup) to 1.5 cups whole wheat flour and a teaspoon of sunflower oil. Season with a pinch of Himalayan salt and knead for 5 minutes until the dough stops becoming sticky. Cover and let sit for 20 minutes and heat pan. Note that this recipe will result in a soft malleable chapati/whole wheat tortilla inlike traditionally it was made to be crunchy, but I don’t like crunchy chapatis so…

Cook chapati for 2 minutes on one side and 1 minutes on the other on medium-high heat and then put it in the hot pot and leave it to rest at least 5 minutes.

For the slaw just chiffonade a leaf of cabbage and nix with crushed cherry tomatoes, dania, freshly-cracked black pepper. Season with Himalayan salt, some mayonnaise and it’s done. This is a very nutrient-packed breakfast best eaten after working out in the morning to regain energy and build muscle & torn tissue. Have this with some organic hot chocolate sweetened with jaggery and you will have maximum energy to enjoy this beautiful sunny day, enjoy 🙂 peace!
