Poppy seeds are rich in omega 3 fats and many other beneficial nutrients. The caveat is to consume tiny amounts because it is the plant that is used to make morphine which is then used to make hard drugs like heroine. The recommended amount is below 30g.
I like them in my brown chapati, just mix about 2 cups of whole wheat flour with 1/2 cup of hot water, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, 1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar/honey, mix well with a wooden spoon then start kneading when it is a little cooler to prevent burning yourself.
Cover with cloth, leave for at least 30 minutes, ideally, 8 hours, cook on low heat, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Put in clean kitchen towel and then in hot pot.
